Indiana

The girls and I went to stay with my Aunt Esther/Frances for about six days last week/weekend. We considered it to be our second vacation of the year and our second annual visit to the lake house (the first visiting my parents). We knew exactly what to pack this time and even managed to jam the stroller in the Prius too. Woody wouldn't have fit if he tried. Maybe he could have packed the car tighter.

Esther/Frances has a house in Gary, Indiana, very near to the lake and sitting beautifully on a lagoon. It is a serene, comfortable, relaxing place. If you can beat the humidity, it is even better (no A/C). We had a great time.

Auntie & Zola, book time

Zadie has found her tongue!

Zola napping on a couch! When did she get so big? This was a day she refused to nap and then fell asleep in the car on our way to buy fresh Indiana strawberries (yum!). When being transferred from the car she woke up and I just put her on the couch. She went back to sleep for another two hours. Wowza.

Pretty cushy

Auntie also taught Zola how to say "holy smokes" and this food is "lushy." When we were at Auntie's she often asked to go home. I am beginning to think this is common among 2 1/2 year olds. But as soon as we go home she was asking where Auntie was? And more importantly, where was Auntie's little miniature Yoda?

Besides trying to go the beach and park we went to Chellberg farms. There was not much going on in the way of animals. We saw three hens, three horses, one goat, one cat, and one pig. No cows and I'm sure there were more chickens somewhere.

Are you sure this is a tractor?

Hot seat!

Zola in a primitive "house" without the protective covering.

She loved this "house" and would have played in it all day if we didn't have to go. She was selling hot dogs and hamburgers!
