Memorial

My Uncle Frank passed away on Saturday, March 29th. He decided to be cremated immediately and have a memorial mass instead of the traditional wake/funeral. I thought this was a great way to celebrate his life. He was also able to choose the songs at his memorial and wrote a heart touching goodbye to his friends and family. I wish I could publish his words here - it was amazing how thoughtful, insightful and touching his farewell was. One couldn't hope to write something so beautiful.

We love you Frank A. Osmanski, Jr. (8/28/39 - 3/29/08)

March 29th also happens to be my mom's birthday. I feel lucky to have both my parent's living and healthy on their farm.

I haven't posted in awhile because I didn't want this to be just any post. I also didn't really feel sad until after the memorial. It was hard to feel sad with this tiny baby strapped to my body. Tiny Zadie who has grown so much and has stopped being an alien. She is now this beautiful, smiling, cooing, oggly-googly baby. You can only feel joy around her. I didn't get teary until I went to sing on Sunday. I sing every Sunday with the Appalachian Gospel Choir at the Old Town School of Folk Music. It is mostly Protestant type music with some hillbilly sing-a-longs mixed in. We were singing this very beautiful melancholy tune (When I Can Read My Title Clear) and it really touched me.

I've posted some cute pics.

A photo of the organ with Frank's painting. The "God light" has altered the pic.
If you zoom on it looks like a person walking down the path. Mmm...could be Frank.
