Milk
The other night I told Woody that it would be a good night to stay at work late if he wanted. I had given both girls a bath (they like to take them together now, it is pretty darn cute), Zadie was about to go to bed, and Zola didn't have a nap so she would go to bed early too. I was feeling all super mom-ish. I had just poured Zola a glass of milk and we were watching Toy Story together, our new favorite movie. I had almost dropped the half gallon of milk when I was putting it back in the fridge, but I had caught it, or more so the fridge had caught it so we were golden, no spilt milk here! As we were watching Toy Story I heard this dripping noise. I looked over at the fridge and much to my horror and shocked disamy, an entire half gallon of milk had leaked out of the carton (must have got a hole in it when the fridge "caught" it for me). The milk was dripping out in large puddles on the floor. You can imagine what it looked like inside the fridge. I was surprisingly calm and didn't even use any four letter words. Zola kept watching and I started to disassemble and clean the fridge. A role of paper towels and a lot of soap and water later the fridge was like new. Hey, I like to clean, but not that much.
Destructo
Zadie has entered total destruction mode. She loves to take everything off of every shelf, out of every drawer and cabinet, and will no longer sit still for diaper changes. I think we have entered the era of the stand up diaper change. We are already doing stand up clothes changes and she stands up in the bath tub the whole time. Zola did the same thing, what are my kids, nuts? Zadie will also come to your house and inspect all your rugs. The girl is always looking under the rugs, trying to pull the no slip matt out from underneath, becoming extrememly frustrated when she can't. Blah blah blah.
Growing up is hard
Zola is almost three. In a little less than two months my very emotional two year old will become a very emotional three year old. Who knew that one child could possess so many emotions. It is like a roller coaster ride my friends. Zola's treatment of her baby sister has improved tremendously. She is no longer shouting NO at her and being mean to her sister in general. She has adopted a sweeter tone with her and almost always gives Zadie a toy if she MUST have the one that Zadie happens to be holding. Zola can successfully use the mouse to launch her favorite programs and is especially savvy with photo booth, snapping pictures, changing effects, etc. Zola is also being more affectionate with her parents, giving hugs and kisses even. She is also more polite, saying please and thank you on her own terms. I think I almost died when she said, "Thank you Mama."
Noteable quoteables
A sleeping Zola being transferred from her car seat to the stroller:
"I'm too tired Mommy, I need a lollipop, I'm so tired!"
Upon being asked to go back into her bed after a 2am wake up and a request to come into our bed. (Btw, this is the first time she has ever done this!)
"That bed? There is a monster in that bed!"
