Pumpkin Carving

Woody & Zola carved pumpkins this past weekend. This pumpkin was grown by my parents. I swear it was fresher than most pumpkins I have carved. We roasted the seeds and I thought they were yummy. The rest of my family wasn't so excited to try them. Zola likes the idea of a Jack-O-Lantern - she even blew me a Jack-O-Lantern kiss tonight. We put the Jack-O-Lantern on the deck so we can look at it glowing at us through the window. I think I like it more than anyone here. I think the whole carving thing was done on my behalf. Zola "carved" her little teeny pumpkin (gourd). She actually just poked holes in it with a pen, but hey, she enjoyed the process.

There is a threading place in my neighborhood! This is great news as I no longer have to travel up to Devon Ave to get my eyebrows done (or remove other unsightly facial hair). It is super cheap and once you thread you will never wax again. We walked over and this time also got Zadie a haircut. Her hair kept falling in her eyes, was all different lengths, and was no longer manageable with a clip. She cried the entire time. When Zola was retelling the story I asked her why she thought Zadie cried. "Because the scissors were SO big!" She was right, they looked more like old butcher scissors than hair cutting scissors, but she survived! Here is our little boy, uh, I mean, girl.

Yes, she brought her own basket and fruit to the play grocery.

I wasn't joking when I said Zadie stands up in the bathtub the entire time.

Hi Dad!

I love to pull my sister's hair!
