Growth Spurts?

There is some major growing going on in the Ma household. The last two days in a row Zola decided to have two bananas for breakfast. For those of you who know Zola's eating habits, they can be likened to those of a little bird. Not lately. It is amazing to me to watch her eat two bananas and then later eat the entire half sandwich of PB&J. I know that half a sandwich may not seem like a lot to some other mamas, but for Zola she normally only eats a quarter sandwich. Zola also ate all of her rice and chicken a couple nights in a row. For her it is about quantity, and definitely NOT quality or variety for that matter. As always, there is always room for treats.

Zadie on the other hand is altering her sleeping habits so she can get up to eat, only to go back to sleep. I think she is still making up for her week of diarrhea. Two nights ago she was up for two hours for no particular reason. I should have just stuck her in the high chair, fed her a yogurt, and then put her back to bed. This morning I was smarter. She got up at 4:45am and was up for good. I tried to nurse her and put her back down but the girl was up and hungry. We fed her cereal and a yogurt and she was back asleep by 6:45. Yikes! This mama, unfortunately, is still awake.

Not to complain, but why not? It is therapeutic. I also got up with Zola last night a few times. Once because "Mommy, I have to go potty." One minute after pottying and putting her back to bed she says again "Mommy, I have to go pottty." "Again?" I ask, "you just went." She gets on the potty and says "No, nothin'." This is the third time for this particular potty behavior, except the two previous times instead of saying "No, nothin'" she says "Just farts." Tee hee. How can farting still be funny to me?

I wonder if this joint growth spurt is just a future teller of the teenage years in our house of girls when we will all get "martha monthly" at the same time and Woody will have to hide in the basement for a week at a time. It makes me sympathize with what my Dad must have went through having three girls.
